Odd AC Noises and What They Mean
The last thing you want to hear when running the air
conditioner is the system itself. Air Conditioner (AC) systems have been
getting quieter and quieter over the years. This is why it is alarming when you
hear some strange noises from your AC device. Below is a list of strange AC
noises and what they mean.
Banging:
If you hear a banging sound from your AC system, it
probably has something broken. Another cause of a banging sound from the AC unit
is if a stick or other debris gets stuck in the condenser.
Screaming
or Screeching:
When a screaming noise is coming from your AC
device, it could mean there is a refrigerant leak in your system. Another cause
of a screaming AC could be an increase in the system’s pressure buildup.
Clicking:
When you hear a clicking noise, it can mean a few
things. The easiest to handle is loose debris in your compressor. A more
complex problem may be related to electric. Occasionally, an electric may make
a clicking noise if it is old or worn out.
Humming
or Buzzing:
Buzzing can mean anything from a faulty compressor to damaged condenser feet.
Squealing:
Squeals can often indicate that a belt is loose and
needs to be replaced or readjusted. Also, belts can expand and contract due to
outdoor temperatures, which exacerbate the already terrible AC noise.
If you hear any of those AC noises, call an AC
expert to fix the problem. If you’re now looking for an AC, check Panasonic AC
price in Pakistan that is Rs. 77,000.
